Focus Features Sets July 12, 2024 Release Date for Baltasar Kormákur's Romantic Drama Touch

Touch is based on the Icelandic best-selling novel by Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson.

Focus Features will release Baltasar Kormákur’s romantic-drama Touch in theaters on July 12, 2024. Focus is distributing Touch domestically, with Universal Pictures International handling international distribution (excluding Iceland).

Touch is based on the Icelandic best-selling novel by Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson published by Ecco/Harper Collins in the U.S August 2022.

The film is co-written by Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson and Kormákur.

A romantic and thrilling story that spans several decades and continents; Touch follows one widower’s emotional journey to find his first love who disappeared 50 years ago, before his time runs out.

RVK Studios’ Kormákur and Agnes Johansen produced Touch alongside Good Chaos’ Mike Goodridge.

The film features a robust cast of performers including, Egill Ólafsson, Kōki, Pálmi Kormákur, Masahiro Motoki, Yoko Narahashi, Meg Kubota, Tatsuya Tagawa, Charles Nishikawa, Sigurður Ingvarsson, Starkaður Pétursson, Benedikt Erlingsson , Kieran Buckeridge, Ruth Sheen, María Ellingsen,  and Masatoshi Nakamura.

Focus Features 2024 slate includes Drive-Away Dolls from Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke, Back to Black about the life and music of Amy Winehouse from director Sam Taylor-Johnson; Robert Eggers’ reimagining of Nosferatu; Edward Berger’s thriller Conclave; The Bikeriders from director Jeff Nichols; Zelda William’s feature directorial debut Lisa Frankenstein written by Diablo Cody; Kobi Libii’s satirical comedy The American Society of Magical Negroes; Baltasar Kormákur’s romantic drama Touch, and Goran Stolevski’s next feature, Housekeeping for Beginners, among others.
