Focus Features, Universal Pictures International, and Working Title Set Release Dates for Georgia Oakley’s Sense and Sensibility

The film will release in the US on September 11, 2026 and the UK on September 25, 2026

Focus Features, Universal Pictures International (UPI) and Working Title announced today that Sense and Sensibility will be released in US theaters on September 11, 2026 and UK theaters on September 25, 2026. Focus has worldwide rights on the movie and UPI will handle international distribution for the studio. 

The film is directed by BAFTA Award nominee Georgia Oakley, from a script by bestselling author Diana Reid. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce alongside India Flint of November Pictures and Jo Wallett of Kiddo Films.

Sense and Sensibility returns Focus and Working Title to Austen’s legendary body of work, after their collaboration on the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, earning four Academy Award® nominations and cementing Focus as a leading independent film company, and the 2020 adaptation of Emma.

Focus Features’ upcoming Fall slate includes auteur-driven works like Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, based the New York Times bestselling novel, starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley and Song Sung Blue, starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, alongside Yorgos Lanthimos’ recently released Bugonia, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.
