Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster have acquired the worldwide rights to PLAY HOUSE, Nicolas Curcio’s debut horror film that was the inaugural winner of Fantastic Pitches, a micro-budget genre initiative spearheaded by Alamo Drafthouse’s Fantastic Fest and indie studio, Chroma. The film will be released in 2027. Universal Pictures International is set to handle international distribution.

While renovating a dilapidated house to win back his ex, Elliot discovers VHS tapes of an unaired children’s TV show which begins to seep into his life, threatening his last chance at reconciliation.

On the heels of the global success of Curry Barker’s Obsession and the recently announced upcoming Occupant from Josh Giuliano, Play House marks the latest collaboration between Focus Features and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, bringing the companies back together with Divide/Conquer for another bold, filmmaker-driven genre project ahead of Barker’s next feature, Anything But Ghosts.
