The 2026 Golden Globes nominations honored three Focus films—Hamnet, Bugonia, and Song Sung Blue. On January 11, the final winners will be announced at a ceremony hosted by Nikki Glaser.

Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal in Hamnet
Hamnet was nominated for six awards: Best Motion Picture, Drama; Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for Jessie Buckley; Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture for Paul Mescal; Best Director, Motion Picture for Chloé Zhao; Best Screenplay, Motion Picture for Chloé Zhao and Maggie O’Farrell; and Best Original Score, Motion Picture for Max Richter.
Buckley comments, “Making Hamnet was the honor of a lifetime. It’s an experience that will live on in my heart and in my bones. I feel so lucky to have been able to bring Agnes to life in this way alongside such extraordinary artists and friends. Thank you to the Golden Globes voters for seeing our work, and for this recognition, which I share with Chloé, Paul, and Maggie and our entire cast and crew.” And Zhao added, “Making Hamnet strengthened my belief in the power of storytelling and the importance of communal gathering - that when we come together and share a part of ourselves with each other, we can help each other heal. So thank you to the Golden Globes for your support and for seeing us!”

Emma Stone, Aidan Delbis, and Jesse Plemons in Bugonia
Bugonia scored three nominations: Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy; Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for Emma Stone; and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for Jesse Plemons. Stone responded, “Feeling very grateful for our Bugonia team today, and to the Golden Globes for our nominations. Working on Bugonia was such a wild and completely singular experience, and getting to make it with Jesse, whose nomination is so deserved, was incredible. None of this would exist without Will Tracy’s amazing script, and Yorgos Lanthimos’ visionary direction, brilliant mind and huge heart. I’m so grateful to our entire cast and crew, and to have been lucky enough to be part of this film.”

Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in Song Sung Blue
Finally, Kate Hudson was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for Song Sung Blue. Hudson responded, This movie is a love letter to music, musicians, family, the human spirit and to filmmaking in its purest form. I’m so proud of it and I hope this brings even more people back to the theatre to experience it with someone they love.”
