Focus Features, Working Title and STUDIOCANAL announced today that Pressure will be released in U.S. theaters on May 29, 2026 - ahead of the annual D-Day day of remembrance, setting the stage for a major theatrical event tied to one of the most consequential moments in modern history.
Featuring an all-star ensemble led by Andrew Scott, Brendan Fraser, Kerry Condon, Chris Messina and Damian Lewis, Pressure is set during the tense 72 hours before D-Day. As the fate of the free world hangs in the balance, General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Captain James Stagg confront an impossible choice — launch the largest and most dangerous invasion in history or risk losing the war altogether.
The film is directed by Anthony Maras (Hotel Mumbai), who co-wrote the script with Olivier award-winner, David Haig, based on Haig’s critically lauded play, which enjoyed a hugely successful run in London’s West End, before going on to be performed for Her Majesty The Queen and world leaders to mark the D-Day 75th anniversary in 2019.
Focus Features is home to visionary filmmakers, bringing bold, original stories to life for audiences through the power of the theatrical experience. Current and recent releases include the Golden Globe Award Best Picture-winner (Drama), Hamnet, from acclaimed director Chloé Zhao, starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, which is now nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture; Craig Brewer’s Song Sung Blue, starring Hugh Jackman and Academy Award–nominee Kate Hudson; and Yorgos Lanthimos’ four-time Academy Award–nominated, Bugonia, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.
Looking ahead, Focus’ 2026 slate spans a variety of films for every audience, including Werwulf, the studio’s third collaboration with acclaimed horror director Robert Eggers, releasing on Christmas Day; The Uprising from Paul Greengrass; Pressure from Anthony Maras; Obsession from rising horror auteur Curry Barker; Georgia Oakley’s highly anticipated new take on Jane Austen’s beloved classic, Sense and Sensibility; and Hayley Kiyoko’s feature film debut, Girls Like Girls.
