Focus Features introduces GIRLS LIKE GIRLS, a coming-of-age story of first loves, identity and the moments that shape who we become, starring Maya da Costa and Myra Molloy. Written by Hayley Kiyoko and Stefanie Scott, the film marks the feature directorial and screenwriting debut of Kiyoko. The film is produced by Marc Platt, Katie McNicol, Dee Best, Michael Philip, Jason Moring, and Richard Alan Reid, and will be released in the U.S. on June 19, 2026.
Based on writer/director Hayley Kiyoko's hit single and best-selling novel of the same name and featuring all-new music from Kiyoko, GIRLS LIKE GIRLS is a heartfelt coming-of-age story set over the course of one sun-drenched summer, where new-girl-in-town Coley falls in love for the first time while learning to accept herself along the way.
Focus Features’ fall slate includes Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet, based on the New York Times bestseller and starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley; Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons; and this Christmas, Craig Brewer’s Song Sung Blue, featuring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson.
