Focus Features and Working Title Set August 28, 2026 US Release Date for Finding Emily

From the producers of Bridget Jones’s Diary and Notting Hill, a new romantic comedy arrives this summer

Focus Features and Working Title announced today that FINDING EMILY will release in US theaters on August 28, 2026. 

Focus Features, Universal Pictures International and Working Title previously announced FINDING EMILY will be in UK theaters on May 22, 2026. Focus has worldwide rights on the film and UPI will handle international distribution for the studio.

MacDonald’s directorial debut is produced by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title and Olivier Kaempfer for Parkville Pictures. The film is written by Rachel Hirons (A Guide to Second Date Sex; Powder Room; Kiss Me First).

Looking ahead, Focus’ 2026 slate spans a variety of films for every audience, including Werwulf, the studio’s third collaboration with acclaimed horror director Robert Eggers, releasing on Christmas Day; The Uprising from Paul Greengrass; Pressure from Anthony Maras; Obsession from rising horror auteur Curry Barker; Georgia Oakley’s highly anticipated new take on Jane Austen’s beloved classic, Sense and Sensibility; and Hayley Kiyoko’s feature film debut, Girls Like Girls. The slate also features the documentary, The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist from Academy Award-winning director Daniel Roher, and Charlie Tyrell.
