Dubbed “Dazed Day,” this limited-time theatrical engagement will kick off on Sunday, September 29, 2024, showcasing a brand-new 4K restoration of the film in over 100 theaters across the US and Canada. The newly restored version of Dazed and Confused offers fans a chance to see the film like never before, with stunning 4K clarity and vibrant colors that bring the nostalgic 1970s setting to life.
Dazed Day will be preceded by a special screening event hosted in partnership with The Austin Film Society at the historic Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, on September 28, 2024. The evening will include a screening of the film, a red carpet, and a Q&A with Linklater and several members of the film’s original cast. More information can be found here.
Linklater’s 1993 coming-of-age comedy takes audiences back to 1976 Austin, Texas, capturing the chaotic joy of high school’s final day. Featuring early performances from now-famous actors like Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Jason London, and Parker Posey, it remains a significant piece of cinematic history today.
