Asteroid City to Premiere at Cannes Film Festival

Wes Anderson’s upcoming film will premiere at the French film festival

It was announced early this morning that Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City will premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France.

The Cannes Film Festival will start on Tuesday, May 16 and wrap on Saturday, May 27.

Asteroid City is filmmaker Anderson’s 11th movie. It takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955.

The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organized to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

The film stars Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson and Tom Hanks. It also features a stacked cast of actors, such as Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon.
