Costume Designer Arianne Phillips on Awards Daily
Arianne Phillips has two Academy Award nominations on her resumé and worked with Tom Ford on his first film A Single Man. With Nocturnal Animals her chief challenge was designing for three unique worlds.
On Aaron Taylor-Johnson's character Ray Marcus' green cowboy boots, "There are a lot of story clues for both the audience and the actor. We all know the experience of putting on a pair of boots and how your posture changes, the fact they were green, we made cinematic choices." She continues, "He also wears a pinky ring that we created this horrible back story where he probably kept it from a victim."
