Lesley Manville as Blanche Weboy
Lesley Manville received an Academy Award® and BAFTA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread opposite Daniel Day-Lewis. Manville has most recently been cast as Princess Margaret for the 5th season of the Netflix sensation, The Crown.
Earlier this year, she returned to the big screen starring alongside Liam Neeson in the incredibly touching true story, Ordinary Love, adapted from a screenplay by acclaimed Irish playwright Owen McCafferty. She also returned to the stage at The National starring alongside Hugo Weaving in The Visit, directed by Jeremy Herrin.
Manville is the star of the BBC’s BAFTA Award winning comedy Mum, for which she has twice received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme. She returned to television in Lennie James’ Save Me Too, the second season of the Sky drama Save Me alongside Stephen Graham.
2018 saw Lesley star on stage opposite Jeremy Irons in Long Day’s Journey into Night at Wyndham’s Theatre, for which she went on to receive an Olivier Award Best Actress nomination, having previously won the Olivier in 2014 for Ghosts.
