Staff Pick from Shaun of the Dead
Kent Sanderson, Associate, Special Projects for Focus Features, picks a scene from SHAUN OF THE DEAD as one of his favorites.
'To me, this scene is emblematic of why this film works so well. It’s diegetically - and hilariously - synced to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and yet somehow, none of the tension is lost. “Shaun” is a great comedy, but it’s endlessly rewatchable because it actually works as a legitimate horror movie as well. We can be caught up in the fact that the zombies are breaking into our heroes’ makeshift safe house in the pub, but nevertheless lose it when we catch a glimpse of Lucy Davis subtly bobbing in sync to Freddie Mercury.'
