Colin Trevorrow, Director

Colin Trevorrow co-wrote and directed Jurassic World, which had the biggest opening weekend of all time in June 2015 and is the fourth-highest-grossing film in history, with nearly $1.7 billion worldwide. He is co-writing and executive-producing the next movie in the Jurassic World series, due out in June 2018.

Mr. Trevorrow’s first feature as director was 2012’s critically lauded Safety Not Guaranteed, which he also produced. The film was nominated for multiple awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and Best Feature Film at the Independent Spirit Awards. Scripted by his Jurassic World co-writer Derek Connolly, Safety Not Guaranteed won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the Sundance Film Festival as well as the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay.

For Lucasfilm and Disney, Mr. Trevorrow will be co-writing and directing Star Wars Episode IX, to be released in 2019. Among his upcoming projects as producer are Intelligent Life, co-written with Mr. Connolly; and Powerhouse, based on his own original story, to be written and directed by Emily Carmichael.
