The Limits of Control is Robert Hein’s fifth collaboration with Jim Jarmusch, following Mystery Train, Dead Man, Coffee and Cigarettes (on the “Twins” segment), and Broken Flowers.

Mr. Hein has been working as a sound specialist for over 30 years; and has worked on over 80 films. These include 22 consecutive films with Woody Allen, from Radio Days, for which he was a BAFTA Award nominee, through Vicky Cristina Barcelona; 5 films for Merchant Ivory, among them the upcoming The City of Your Final Destination and The White Countess, for which he was a Satellite Award nominee; 4 films for Griffin Dunne, including the soon-to-be-released The Accidental Husband;andDavid Koepp’s Secret Window and Ghost Town.

He was a Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Award nominee for his sound editing of David Breashears’ documentary Kilimanjaro: To the Roof of Africa, which was originally made for IMAX screens.
