NEW YORK TIMES ON JESSICA CHASTAIN'S RISING STAR

In The New York Times’ article “A Star Not Quite Overnight,” Margy Rochlin considers the range of roles that THE DEBT star Jessica Chastain has taken on in the recent years. More than anything, it’s clear how much work Ms. Chastain puts into her parts. As Rochlin notes, for “the role, Ms. Chastain read mountains of material on the Holocaust, trained in the elbow-flinging Israel martial art of Krav Maga and pored over YouTube videos of a young Helen Mirren — who plays her character in 1997 — to memorize Ms. Mirren’s smallest facial tics and vocal inflections.” It seems to have paid off, as Helen Mirren comments in the piece: “I recognized my younger self in her in the sense of the seriousness and dedication to which she approaches the part….She’s dogged.”
