Copenhagen-born actor Jesper Christensen is a veteran of world cinema, and has starred in a host of Danish films and television series.

His 25 years of theatre work included playing Alceste in The Misanthrope; Richard in Richard lll, as a one-man show; Faust in Faust; and Astrov in Uncle Vanya.

Mr. Christensen is best known to moviegoers worldwide as the mysterious villain Mr. White in the two most recent James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) blockbusters, Martin Campbell’s Casino Royale and Marc Forster’s Quantum of Solace.

His many other features include Jan Troell’s Hamsun, Everlasting Moments, and forthcoming Truth and Consequence; Per Fly’s class-themed trilogy of The Bench, The Inheritance, and Manslaughter; Jean-Marc Vallée’s The Young Victoria, with Emily Blunt; Sydney Pollack’s The Interpreter, alongside Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn; Lone Scherfig’s Italian for Beginners; Liv Ullmann’s Sofie; Jon Avnet’s telefilm Uprising; and Lars von Trier’s recently premiered Melancholia.
