Something About Ben
While Stiller worked as both actor and director, his first big breakthrough came in 1998 when he was cast by the Farrelly brothers as Cameron Diaz's sad-sack lover in There’s Something About Mary. Two years later, Stiller hit comedy gold again with Meet the Parents by playing the can’t-do-anything-right suitor opposite Robert DeNiro as his prospective father-in-law. The next year, Zoolander demonstrated the catwalk lengths that Stiller would go to to make people laugh. Stiller had arrived as a comic actor who, thank God, had no shame.
