San Francisco | City of Tourism
San Francisco is an extremely popular tourist destination, with the waterfront, Chinatown, the Golden Gate Bridge and Park and the Palace of Fine Arts being among the attractions that draw 15 million visitors a year. And, of course, if you’re a movie buff, you’re in a place where one can retrace the steps of the characters in some of your favorite movies. Filmmaker Caveh Zahedi did exactly this being taking the city’s Vertigo tour, a trip around the locations in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic psychological thriller starring James Stewart and Kim Novak. Zahedi’s response to the experience was so conflicted that he wrote two articles on the subject for Caveh Takes the Vertigo Tour. (You can also watch Caveh Zahedi’s short film Dada, made for FilmInFocus’ Indie Babies series, over on the Videos section of the site.)
