Producer; Lead AnimatorTravis Knight is LAIKA’s President and CEO, and has been involved in all principal creative and business decisions since the studio’s founding in 2003. Despite his corporate responsibilities, he still likes playing with dolls.
He was lead animator on LAIKA’s first feature, Coraline, directed by Henry Selick. Released through Focus Features, Coraline earned BAFTA and Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Film, among other honors worldwide. Mr. Knight’s work on the movie garnered him an Annie Award nomination as well as a Visual Effects Society Award nomination.
In June 2007, he was cited by Animation Magazine as a “Rising Star of Animation.” He began working as a stop-motion animator in the late 1990s, and has had a lifelong interest in both film and animation.
