Christopher Murrie, ACE
EditorChristopher Murrie has been editing prize-winning animated commercials and short films since 1999. As part of LAIKA since its inception, he edited Henry Selick’s CG short Moongirl before segueing to work on a series of innovative spots for e-sure (a U.K. insurer) and the award-winning stop-motion feature Coraline, also directed by Mr. Selick. For his work on Coraline, Mr. Murrie received an American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.) Eddie Award nomination.
He has also collaborated on high-profile commercials campaigns for Trident, Honda, and M&Ms. The Mirinda “Genie” ad he edited in 2000 won the Animated Film Society’s commercials Annie Award. Mr. Murrie also edited all three seasons of the Emmy Award-winning spots for NFL on FOX.
Among the other projects that he has edited are Signal in the Sky, the Powerpuff Girls music video; Kirk Kelley’s award-winning experimental short film Day of the Dead; and Mike Wellins’ 45-minute Deadenders.
Mr. Murrie holds a degree in art and studies in music composition from Illinois’ Knox College. He then trained in Chicago in film editing and post-production.
