AlvinChristopher Mintz-Plasse became one of the most sought-after young comedic actors in Hollywood with his unforgettable film debut as Fogell, better known as “McLovin,” opposite Michael Cera and Jonah Hill in Greg Mottola’s 2007 sleeper hit Superbad. He was nominated for the MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance.
He followed Superbad up with a featured role in another hit comedy, Role Models, alongside Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott, and Ken Jeong for director David Wain; an appearance in Harold Ramis’ Year One, reunited on-screen with Michael Cera; Craig Gillespie’s Fright Night; and another memorable turn, as “Red Mist,” in Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass, for which he received a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Movie Villain. A sequel to the latter is planned.
Mr. Mintz-Plasse lent his voice to the blockbuster animated feature How to Train Your Dragon, directed by Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders, and is currently reteaming with the former director for voice work on the movie’s sequel.
Among his upcoming live-action movies are the all-star omnibus comedy Red Band; Danny Roth’s ensemble drama Tag; and Jason Moore’s music-themed comedy Pitch Perfect and Dylan Kidd’s contemporary comedy Get a Job, both also starring Anna Kendrick of ParaNorman.
Mr. Mintz-Plasse is currently at work filming the new television comedy series Friend Me, in which he stars alongside Nicholas Braun.
