Dr. Zhivago
This is a beast. Really. This might be the only melodramatic piece of symphonic / orchestral music which moves me deeply AND gets described in clichés like "sweeping" and "powerful." The movie itself is like a gift from god, so that doesn't hurt either.
A Man For All Seasons
Mid to High Renaissance music is about all I'lI listen in my own home. Henry VIII is one of my top ten favorite composers. This is exactly where this movie is set so notwithstanding the religious drudgery, the music here is exactly what I like. Incidentally, the dialogue in this movie might be the best ever written. It is arguable at least.

The Graduate
"Hello darkness my old friend." Ooh, I actually just got shivers from merely typing those words. Oh, and I also visualized the long shot of the quad when he goes to find her at college. Damn, I love this film. Heavy bourgeois psychology of the sort that Dr. Zhivago's Bolsheviks attempted to cleanse from Russia.
Star Wars
I certainly wouldn't listen to this at home but I'll never deny that what this music does to me is major. Completely Pavlovian but definitely major. This is my favorite movie ever and by a long shot.
The Dandy Warhols have already established themselves as musical icons with their songs “Bohemian Like You” and “Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth,” and with ...Earth To The Dandy Warhols..., their sixth full-length and first on their own label, Beat The World Records, they've only reaffirmed the band’s position in alternative rock annals The Dandy Warhols’ first album, Dandys Rule OK? Came out in 1995 on Tim Kerr records. Soon thereafter, Capitol records signed the band to a long-term deal, releasing The Dandy Warhols Come Down (1997), 13 Tales From Urban Bohemia (2000), Welcome To The Monkey House (2003) and Odditorium or Warlords of Mars (2005). Over the course of their career, the band have collaborated with the likes of Nick Rhodes (Duran Duran) and David LaChappelle (who directed the Dandy's video for their hit “Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth”), as well as supported major artist arena tours, from Tom Petty and David Bowie to summer treks in Europe with the Rolling Stones.
