To celebrate Valentine’s Day, FilmInFocus invited some of the biggest names in the adult entertainment industry to pick their top five romantic comedies.
Heathers
I'm not sure if everyone would consider this a comedy, but this movie is hilarious and twisted and, quite frankly, I don't know how I would have gotten through high school without it. I definitely masturbated to the thought of JD and Veronica having sex on that croquet field several times. I can't think of anything else more romantic and more comedic than having a dreamy psychotic boyfriend who wants to blow up your school with you.
The Hangover
The Hangover is kind of romantic because there is a wedding at the end but, more importantly, it is a movie about a "bromance" more than just a romance. These boys go to jail together, and count cards at blackjack together and, most importantly, you do get to see one of Heather Grahams boobs. I think this is one of the funniest new movies to come out in the past few years.
Role Models
I am kind of in love with Paul Rudd, which I think is pretty romantic in itself.... but not quite as romantic as the odd father-son relationship he had with Augie in this movie. It was also very useful for me to learn that that Starbucks calls a large drink a "Venti" because it is 20 ounces.
Coming to America
I could watch this movie again and again and never get sick of it. It's definitely an exaggerated and almost insulting depiction of African culture but that doesn't matter so much here. It has a nice cheesy heartwarming message about love being more important than anything else and all the comedic bits in this movie are well delivered, hilarious and timeless.
Hot Fuzz
This movie is also about a "bromance" and not a typical romance.... but man, these two boys are so cute together. AND they were wearing cop uniforms most of the time, so it was very close to watching the Chippendales. I'm not a huge fan of cops, but men who are not really cops but are just acting as cops in cop uniforms WITH British accents.... are undoubtedly sexy awesome.
