Native Australian Jill Bilcock has collaborated with many of the most notable Australian filmmakers of the past two decades, after having studied art and filmmaking at the Victorian College of Arts. Her editing on Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge! earned her the American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.) Eddie Award; the American and Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards; and BAFTA and Academy Award nominations.
She has won four other Australian Film Institute Awards, for her editing on Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom, Ana Kokkinos' Head On, and Sue Brooks' Japanese Story; as well as the organization's prestigious Byron Kennedy Award. Additionally, she was a nominee for her work on Richard Lowenstein's Strikebound; Fred Schepisi's A Cry in the Dark; and P.J. Hogan's Muriel's Wedding.
Ms. Bilcock's other feature credits include Baz Luhrmann's William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet (which she also associate–produced); Richard Lowenstein's Dogs in Space; John Seale's Till There Was You; Clara Law's You Seng (a.k.a. Temptation of a Monk); Jocelyn Moorhouse's How to Make an American Quilt; Shekhar Kapur's Elizabeth (for Working Title); Sam Mendes' Road to Perdition; and Laurence Dunmore's The Libertine.
