From Russia With Love

This was the first Bond film I ever saw. It was amazing for the times, thrilling and funny. I can recall frame after frame from it. Robert Shaw was the best bad guy ever and Sean Connery was sublime.

Three Days of the Condor

This was a great piece of work. Realistic, believable, terrifying. Still holds.

The Conversation

Francis Ford Coppola’s film is a prescient, paranoid take on modernity, and Gene Hackman is God.

Casino Royale

This movie was a breakaway from all that had gone stale in the Bond series. It was mean and the pace was fantastic. I saw the film in a small out of town cinema, and after the first ten minutes of intro and parkour, I heard myself go Whoooeeee! Like I was fourteen years old again. And Daniel Craig is the first really good Bond since Sean Connery. I was proud to be in it.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

Finally, there is the John le Carré miniseries with Alec Guinness and the most incredible bunch of wonderful actors. That changed spy films forever. The pace is soooo slow, but every character is marvelous.

In THE DEBT, Copenhagen-born actor Jesper Christensen plays Doktor Bernhardt/Dieter Vogel, the Nazi war criminal that the three Mossad agents have been tasked with capturing. While Christensen is loved for his evil characters, including Mr. White in the recent James Bond movies CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE, he’s played roles across the board, in both film and stage.
