Steel Magnolias

Steel Magnolias

I still cry when I watch this movie - probably over 20 times. I love the strength and humor of the women and how they all pull together. The film also demonstrates the circle of life. In the end – I feel a tinge sad – yet inspired.

The scenery is breathtaking. The movie is about overcoming (hardship, war, racism, greed) and finding love unexpectedly. The movie demonstrates the power of deep love to transform life. The movie speaks to me about the importance of focusing on what is important and to do what is right no matter what.

I admire this movie because of the message of perseverance and that winning means different things to different people. Never give up – never.

Miracle

Miracle

I watched the winning game when the USA hockey team won the Olympics against many odds. I grew up in Northern Minnesota where people lived and breathed hockey. The movie credibly told the story and made me practically feel the workouts that the team was doing. Very inspirational and motivational. Preparation and heart are a winning combination.

Mulan

Mulan

This Disney movie tells the story of a girl who wants to protect her family and her country. She does whatever she needs to do to make it happen including pretending to be a man, becoming a warrior, and defying her family. She realizes that her actions may cost her deeply on a personal level – but she is acting for the greater good.
