To celebrate Valentine’s Day, FilmInFocus invited some of the biggest names in the adult entertainment industry to pick their top five romantic comedies.
Vicky Cristina Barcelona
I have a thing for men with accents so this movie is right up my alley.
You can't deny a Latin lover. Even though deep down inside you know he has 10 other lovers, he is able to make you feel like you are the only woman in the world who exists — until the other lovers find out what he's doing and it all comes crashing down. In addition, it's always your fault and not his at all. You're forced to go back to your life as it was and pretend it never happened. Eventually it starts to feel like a dream.
Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona dramatizes this beautifully. Watching a man juggle three incredibly different women (one lost in life but wonderfully adventurous, one with everything perfectly planned but insecure, and one who appears to be his soul mate but who is mentally unstable) is highly entertaining. Javier Bardem's character attracts these women hoping one will be the perfect woman, but is so confused about the difference between lust and love that he ends up in the cycle not knowing he is the one who put him there.
P.S. I Love You
Great movie. It makes me smile and cry and at the same time — that's pretty difficult to do to a girl who gets reamed up the backdoor every day.
The people who made this movie make death funny. At first you think, "How is this movie going to be any good?" But with a cute treasure hunt of love set up by a dead guy that leads to a hot Irish dude (man with an accent again) we are witness to fantastic moviemaking.
Punch-Drunk Love
I love this movie because I love Adam Sandler, and I was so excited to see him play an emotionally immature man prone to episodes of distractive rage.
While not an unusual character for Mr. Sandler, the movie's eccentricities are what separates it from his other comedies. I love the quirkiness of this film and it really tugs at the heartstrings.
Despite all the bullshit filling these two lives (Sandler and love interest Emily Watson), their characters are so perfect for each other and you can help but feel the need to shout it out loud and embarrass yourself. Being a bit offbeat myself, hearing some else say, "I'm lookin' at your face and I just wanna smash it…you're so pretty," makes me feel like I'm not the only strange one in the world.
The moral of this movie is that what they say is true: Once you are alone, really alone, and stop looking, maybe even to the point of completely giving up, that perfect person will come along and understand you.
The Science of Sleep
I watched this movie twice before I understood what was going on, and I'm still not sure I completely understand it.
But I do know this — this movie makes you want to give the main character a hug. It makes me want to sleep next to him in hopes of experiencing, even if it's ever so slightly, what he does.
This movie is about a boy who has blended his dreams with reality since he was a child and as an adult he doesn't know when he's dreaming and when he's awake. The only thing that seems real to him is his attraction for the girl who lives across the hall. It shows what new love feels like — intense, frustrating, and childish. But if you get past those hurdles the movie's message is that love is real, honest, and devoted.
Amelie
What can I say? Amelie is the most incredible love story of all time. It's amazingly romantic and as long as you don't mind reading subtitles, you'll have the chance to expose yourself to a world that is unlike anyone else's.
Audrey Tatou's character does what little girls dream of doing when they first discover the word love — defining the mystery, so when your true love discovers the truth he can't deny the power it has on him and he his swept into it for eternity. This movie really makes you want to stop and smell the roses with your one true love.

Bobbi Starr: With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we notice the abundance of romantic movies. These are meant to give warm-fuzzies to those who are in relationships or cheer up those who are wallowing in self-pity, alone. Needless to say, women love to watch them all.
It's like watching a train wreck. How can you deny it? How can you turn away? You know what the outcome is going to be and you know how you will feel at the end of it but you still watch hoping that miraculously, somehow, it will be different this time.
With this in mind, I've picked my top five romantic comedies. They may not all seem comical to you, but in one way or another they are to me.
